Well, the little stinker couldn't wait 3 more weeks and surprised us at 37 weeks. Surprised is an understatement! On Thursday night, I came home at about 9:30 pm from a baby shower that my ward threw me. I went to bed around 10:30 pm, after preparing for work the next day. At about 11:30 pm, I got up to use the bathroom and my water broke!!! At first I was in denial and shock. I went into the bathroom and convinced myself that my water didn't just break. When I came out of the bathroom, I told Austin that I thought my water broke but I wasn't sure. He told me to call my mom. I called my mom around midnight and she told me to go straight to the hospital. So, with shaky hands and being scared to death, I told Austin it was time to go. We went to the hospital and they checked me in just after midnight. My contractions started and by 2:30 am I was ready for my epidural. After the epidural I was in heaven and it was smooth sailing from that point on. I rested and slept as much as I could and poor Austin tried to sleep on the pull out bed. At about 4:00 or 4:30 am the nurse came in and told me I was dialated to a 3.5. The doctor came in shortly after that and told me that he estimated I would give birth around noon, so I settled in for a long night/day ahead. Little Trevor had other plans. At around 7:30 am the nurse came in and checked me again, informing me that I was fully dialated. I asked her what that meant and she said...that means it's time to push. I just remember giggling and laughing a lot because this was my first time and it was all happening so fast. The nurses and staff were so amazing and Dr. Lamoreaux was awesome. I pushed for about 20 to 30 minutes and then little Trevor made his appearance. IT WAS AMAZING! Thanks goodness for modern medicine. Because of the epidural, I was able to enjoy the experience from beginning to end. Trevor came out crying, but they cleaned him up and placed him in my arms and I was instantly in love. I couldn't remember life without him anymore. Austin's heart melted as well and on Friday, April 6th, 2012 we both became the proud parents of Trevor Austin Lux. He weighed a tiny 4 pounds and 13 ounces and measured 17.5 inches long. He is perfect. The poor thing had low blood sugars and had to be taken to the NICU for 2 days to get them under control. It was the best feeling ever to get to take him home with us on Sunday.

It's true when people tell you that you don't know what love is until you have a child. We are literally in love with this little guy. He has changed our lives for the better forever. Being a little older, we are so ready for this new life. I know that there are hard times ahead, but for now, I'm going to enjoy every last minute of this newborn stage.
